Saif Ali Khan knife attack: CCTV footage reveals suspect in action

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder in his Bandra apartment early in the morning. The incident occurred on January 16, 2025, around 2:30 AM. The attacker stabbed the actor multiple times before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, Saif Ali Khan, 54, is now stable after undergoing emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital.

Intruder caught on camera

The first CCTV footage of the suspect has been released. The video shows the intruder staring directly into the camera while descending the staircase after the attack. The suspect reportedly entered the 12th-floor apartment without forcing entry, possibly sneaking in during the night.

Saif’s domestic help raised an alarm upon discovering the intruder. She suffered a minor hand injury during a scuffle. Hearing the commotion, Saif intervened, leading to a confrontation between him and the attacker.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital revealed that Saif sustained six injuries, including two deep wounds. A major injury to his thoracic spine required surgery to remove a knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Other injuries included cuts on his hand and neck, which were treated by a plastic surgery team. The actor is currently in the ICU but is expected to be moved to a normal ward soon.

Legal action

An FIR has been registered at Bandra police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including robbery with intent to cause harm and house trespass at night. Police are investigating how the intruder gained access to the apartment.

The incident has raised concerns about safety in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis acknowledged the seriousness of such incidents but maintained that Mumbai remains a safe city. He assured the public of efforts to enhance security measures.

Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor, issued a statement thanking fans for their support and confirming that the rest of the family is safe. The incident has left many in shock, highlighting the need for stringent security measures even in high-profile residences.
